The cold cathode lamp tube (shown in Figure 1) is filled with a mixed gas of inert gas Ne + Ar in a glass tube containing a trace amount of mercury vapor (several mg), and a phosphor is coated on the inner wall of the glass, and a high pressure is applied between the two electrodes. In the high-frequency electric field, the mercury vapor is excited in the electric field to produce an energy-releasing luminescence effect, and the ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 253.7 nm is emitted, and the phosphor atoms of the inner wall are excited by the ultraviolet light to raise the energy level thereof, and when the atom is reversed, the energy is low. The visible light is emitted in the order (this visible wavelength is determined by the characteristics of the phosphor material).
